Poughkeepsie, NY formed and Philadelphia-based electro-tripmetal trio Genghis Tron plan to follow up their 2006 release Dead Mountain Mouth, with their upcoming album release Board Up the House, scheduled to debut February 19.
While displaying a solid metal effort, the band has continued to progress into a more diverse sound full of face-melting guitar riffs and skin-stretching shrieks that displays a rich electronic influence rooted in grindcore noise.
Genghis Tron has tour dates beginning February 21 in their hometown at First Unitarian Church as well as four shows scheduled to hit Austin during SXSW beginning on March 13 and ending on March 16 with a performance at Red 7 alongside Russian Circles, Tera Melos, Coliseum and others.Video: Genghis Tron - "Board Up the House" (Snake Eyes Vinyl, SXSW 2007)
